This week was the first of my “race” weeks. The coaching schedule I’m on has a 20 week build up to races, with base training inbetween. This scary fact means that I now only have 19 weeks until Outlaw Half. Crap.
Perhaps it’s coincidence, but this also happened to be a week that I struggled to fit everything in. I started off well with a cracking pace swim, beating my previous 400m swim time by about 2:30. I think I must have always gone out too fast in my previous triathlons and it’s resulted in a loss of puff for the remainder, but now I know that I can go in with a bit more confidence.
